Pictures always play an important part in a children’s book. They add to the meaning of the story line and accompany the text to visually convey the book’s content. As Alice puts it in her famous quote from Lewis Carroll’s children's book Alice in Wonderland “What is the use of a book without pictures or conversations?”. Pictures play an important role in books not only because they simplify the comprehension but also because they spark students’ imaginations, ignite their curiosity and motivate even reluctant learners to talk about what they can see.
