Florida has long been understood as the central vacation spot and retirement place for people from inside and outside the US. As a result of massive migration waves from basically any Spanish-speaking country in the world, “The Sunshine State”, however, offers a variety of opportunities to include linguistic and cultural diversity in the foreign language classroom. This article illustrates how Florida can be seen as a unique asset to teach plurilingualism and multiculturalism to speakers of languages other than English.
